Plastic surgery trends
Plastic surgery procedures on the rise
As economic indicators such as retail, auto and home sales rise so do plastic surgery procedures, in particular, minimally invasive procedures.
Botox and Dysport saw an increase of 8 percent in 2012 compared with the previous year. Tissue fillers, such as Juvederm, Radiesse and Restylane were up 5%, with chemical peels up 2%; laser hair removal was up 4% and microdermabrasion up 8%.
The rise in minimally invasive plastic surgery procedures is a reflection of our societies' desire to reverse the aging process. Although plastic surgery procedures continue to rise in popularity, non-surgical procedures are outpacing surgery due to their minimal downtime and cost-effectiveness.
