Case 358: Body Contouring after Weight Loss

This patient had a gastric bypass procedure 1 year prior to body contouring (tummy tuck) procedure. She lost 110 pounds to bring her weight from 280 pounds down to 170. This resulted in a significant amount of loose, excess skin in the abdominal region. She wanted to remove this excess skin to improve the appearance. She underwent a modified version of an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) due to an excess of skin in both the vertical and horizontal direction thus requiring an excision of skin in both directions. WIthout this vertical skin excision component she would not have had an optimal result. She is very happy with the result from her body contouring procedure after gastric bypass surgery weight loss.
