Gynecomastia surgery- Removal of Male breast tissue and Ultrasonic Liposuction

Procedure Details

Young men will often develop gynecomastia (excessive male breast tissue) during puberty. The growth of the breast tissue is often due to normal hormonal changes but it can also be due to various medical conditions and/or the use of certain medications. For some the breast tissue will decrease with age but not for all. This persistent breast tissue makes them feel self-conscious particularly with tighter clothing. The breast tissue can sometimes be firm, tender and painful. The surgical correction of gynecomastia surgery involves liposuction of the fat along with surgical removal of the denser breast tissue, if present, that is located underneath the nipple. This involves putting a curved incision along the junction of the pigmented portion of the areola and the normal skin. The scars often heal very well with minimal visibility. The surgery has a high satisfaction rate among men troubled with gynecomastia. This patient was very happy to have chosen our Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Rupesh Jain, at the Institute of Plastic Surgery.
