About Brow Lift Surgery
When you age, skin elasticity decreases and causes various aspects of the face to begin to sag. This is particularly true in the upper face and typically impacts both men and women. When looking in a mirror, do you think you look angry or tired, see deep wrinkles in between your eyebrows, or don't like seeing a sagging brow? A brow lift at at our practice could be the ideal aesthetic procedure for you if you are suffering from any of these issues.
"35 years ago, I had breast implant surgery. Over the course of those years, my breasts had encapsulated causing my breasts to look totally abnormal and very hard to the touch. Fast forward, I needed them removed. Dr Jain was recommended and I couldn't be more pleased. He replaced my implants (both of which had ruptured, but I didn't know it) with the type of implant that much reduces the possibility of encapsulation and no chance of old-school rupture. The results are simply stunning. Soft, normal shaped and just the right size. The surgery was a bit complicated, but Dr. Jain's expertise was key in getting the results I wanted. Dr. Jain is gifted, and very attuned to the needs of the patient. He gave me a realistic description of what to expect and he delivered. His staff is wonderful--very attentive and supportive. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommend."- P.D. / Google / Nov 20, 2018
"I love my new neck! I recommend Dr. Jain. You will not be disappointed! - I love Dr. Jain and his staff! Dr. Jain tells you the truth about what he can do for you. I have had other doctors who promised what they would do and how I would look and it did not turn out that way. I am so happy with the procedure Dr. Jain did for me. He was very kind and honest with me. If you need a procedure done I recommend Dr. Jain. You will not be disappointed!"- W. / RealSelf / Dec 20, 2019

Before the procedure, anesthesia is administered. This may be done under IV sedation or general anesthesia based on the nature of the procedure. The incision performed in a browplasty is chosen with consideration to the degree of skin's condition, whether the forehead is being addressed, and the appearance of the patient's hairline. The different techniques that may be used at our practice are:
- Traditional Incision
This is the open brow lift incision and puts the surgical incision behind the hairline at the top of the head. This incision not only hides scars, but it also allows a certain amount of lift control throughout the surgery. This type of incision is good for those with both frown lines and a sagging brow. The traditional brow lift is the preferred method for patients who are concerned about a receding hairline.
- Endoscopic Forehead Lift
The endoscopic lift is a more modern method employed in brow lift surgery. This method makes multiple small incisions beyond the hairline and inserts a tool known as an endoscope, which travels to the eyebrow to release its attached tools. Using the endoscope's camera, the brow tissue is repositioned with stitches to put the brow in a higher location.
What to Expect
The recovery period after a brow lift varies, with more post-surgery swelling and discomfort reported with the traditional approach compared to the endoscopic method. In general, patients feel some swelling and bruising in the upper portion of the face around the eyebrows and sometimes near the eyes. Cold compresses can help to diminish the inflammation, and our surgeons recommend patients sleep with a few pillows propped under their head for the first several nights after their brow lift. It is critical to eliminate any activities or movement that can put pressure on your face. The typical recovery period from a brow lift is around 2 – 3 weeks. The results can often be seen right away, with a refreshed appearance that seems more alert, softer, and has a visible improvement in sagging skin and fine lines in the upper face.
