  • Maddie’s Biergarten offers a wide selection of craft beers and live music every Friday and Saturday night.
  • Sienna at the Courtyard is an upscale restaurant with a cozy ambiance, an extensive wine list and an eclectic menu. The venue also features live music most weekends.
  • Union an American Bistro is a popular dining spot with a regularly-changing menu and one of the best happy hours in town.

Getting the Shopping Bug

If you are ready to hit the stores in anticipation of Christmas, Castle Rock does not disappoint. Capture the deals on your favorite designer labels at the Outlets of Castle Rock. If you prefer a more unique gift-shopping experience, head to the Barn and Emporium to find antiques, hand-crafted items and one-of-a-kind food, jewelry and home accessories to fit everyone on your list. Both the Barn and Emporium are located in scenic downtown Castle Rock, where you will also be able to grab a quick cup of java at Lost Coffee or enjoy a leisurely cocktail at Sienna at the Courtyard.

Hiking the Rock

Outdoor enthusiasts will have to take a day to climb the “Rock,” the large formation at the top of a mesa that gives Castle Rock its name. The hike up the hill is steep enough to be rated difficult, and climbing to the top of the rock can take a bit of skill. However, once you hit the peak, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire town as well as the Rocky Mountains in the background. The trail itself is about 1.4 miles and features a covered picnic area to enjoy after your hike.

Small Town Holiday Celebrating

Castle Rock has a unique way to usher in the start of the holiday season – a Starlighting ceremony that takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This celebration is loaded with small-town charm, from the horse-drawn carriage rides to the chili supper served up at the local firehouse. The pinnacle of the evening is the lighting of the large star that sits on top of the rock, which shines throughout the holidays and into January. Lighting is typically performed by Santa and a few young “friends” and the event is often completed with a fireworks display set to Christmas music. Castle Rock offers a wide array of options in dining, entertainment and activities to get you ready for the upcoming holiday season. While you are enjoying the festivities, don’t forget to schedule your cosmetic treatment at the Institute of Plastic Surgery, just 45 minutes south of the town in Colorado Springs. We offer a variety of treatments and surgical procedures to help you shine for the season. To learn more, contact us today!
