About CoolSculpting
Advanced CoolSculpting is a fat cell reduction technique created to sculpt and contour the body by freezing stubborn fat without surgery. The technology employs the application of controlled cooling, also known as cryolipolysis, to freeze fat cells so they can be organically flushed from your body to create a leaner silhouette. At the Institute of Plastic Surgery in Colorado Springs, CO under the careful control of our plastic surgeons, we employ the use of advanced CoolSculpting to help you realize your plastic surgery goals. Schedule an appointment for more information about CoolSculpting and find out if it is the right treatment for you.

Ideal Candidates
Although this procedure has shown to be successful on women and men of varying age groups, those who are most likely to benefit from CoolSculpting:
- Maintain a healthy body weight
- Experience difficult areas of fat that don't respond to natural weight loss efforts
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle
- Are not interested in or do not qualify for surgical procedures
- Have sensible expectations for the results of their procedure
Procedure Technique
Following your initial appointment with one of our surgeons to create your CoolSculpting treatment plan, your first procedure will be scheduled. During your appointment, the CoolSculpting handpiece and a special gel pad are used on the desired area, and cryolipolysis will begin. The cooling technology, delivered through the applicator, will begin to target and freeze the fat. You will probably experience a cold sensation during your procedure, but this typically does not create pain. Because the applicator uses suction to pull the fat toward the treatment area, you can expect to experience a slight pulling or stinging, but these will be completely normal sensations.
What to Expect
Since the CoolSculpting procedure is nonsurgical, you will be able to return to normal activities following treatment. Typically, patients can return to school or work immediately after their appointment. Symptoms of the treatment can include stinging, redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness of the treatment site. These symptoms are short lived and will fade in the hours and days after your treatment. You can expect to see results within three weeks, while you will see the most dramatic and obvious results 1 – 3 months following your CoolSculpting procedure.
